Too long didn’t read it - TLDR
Bridge update… sort of
Originally, we expected to learn about funding for the bridge in February. We wanted to have decisive news for you: either, we got funding, we’re building a bridge! or we didn’t get funding, we’re going to find a way to build a bridge! But after the inauguration there were substantial changes in the government.
While these changes don’t, yet, directly affect our project and funding, they did slow down all government programs that still exist, including the one considering us for help. So we don’t know yet if we will get help building the bridge. It remains clear that it needs to get built as soon as possible.
We are actively moving
Our home. Our mushroom growing/processing/lab space. EVERYTHING.
You know that thing that happens when you buy a house and everything that was waiting until you close to fall apart, does? That’s happening. So, major renovations abound. We’re doing everything we can (and some things most wouldn’t tackle) ourselves.
But also, we have tinctures to get to you and communities to help grow their mushrooms, so the new mushroom lab and the space to process our products is also being built. In the picture below you can see the garage where we used to grow and process our mushrooms; the grow tent in it’s early days, before the start of a previous season; and the grow room with the tent gone.

And as if that wasn’t enough. The new land is perfect for horses. So we’re looking for a horse trainer to share it with us. We’re getting our barns and paddocks ready to make some horses (and their humans) very happy.
If you or someone you trust wants a new home for your horse training business, reply to this email or reach out on our site.

Our to do list has come alive and threatens to take over. It’s a lot and it’s getting done. And this is how spring happens. Bit by bit. But also, in a way, all at once. Here’s what we’ve done so far.
Site Changes. Schedule Changes. Changes Galore.
I’ve been tinkering with the website for months.
Some of you may have come across errors or delays while trying to buy a Mushroom Microfarm bag or while ordering a subscription for your tinctures.
I’m so sorry! I believe I fixed everything. But it’s hard to know. We got substantially less orders over the winter, so it takes me longer to notice an error. If you’ve been on the fence about buying something, please go ahead and do it. That way I can know if the site works. You can find our products by clicking “Shop” either from our home page or from our substack home.
Our vending schedule is changing.
We update our schedule in real time in our Google calendar.
We’ll see you at Sport Hill Farm on Sundays with tinctures and other odds and ends. (Check out the crochet mushroom friend below on our table this season!) Fresh mushrooms will be available when possible as we build our new facilities.

We’ll see you every other Thursday at the Trumbull market. We’ll let you know when you’ll see us at Newtown. And we’ll let you know if we branch out to any other markets when we know.
We’ll miss you all at the New Haven ecstatic dance! Hopefully there’s a new location soon. Where are you dancing lately?
In the next post, we’ll talk about our new lab space. We’ve never talked about how we do what we do before. That post will be paid so if you haven’t already, it’s a great time to upgrade your subscription.
See you at the market soon!
